SMM Academy is offering a $19.99 (nonrefundable) promotion for students who sign up early to try out the 3 base subjects (Pre-AP chemistry, AP Physics 1 and AP Calculus AB or Algebra 2) for the month of September 2023. Students who feel that they do not have the algebra 2 math skills necessary to advance to AP Calculus AB may switch this option for algebra 2. Candidates can study Pre-AP chemistry and/or AP physics 1 while taking Algebra 2 concurrently. At or before the end of this promotion period, students can choose to withdraw or continue with any combination of these courses. The Promotion sign up period August 4 - September 2, 2023. Candidates (minors) and their parents can sign up for the promotions online or at a promotional event.

The tuition for the courses for the 2023-2024 academic year is free, but only students who wish to have a certificate for each course will be accepted for registration. The administrative costs for the certificates are as follows;

Science: $180.00
Calculus: $150.00

Each course runs from September 5, 2023 to the May 17, 2024.

The certificate for the science courses is more expensive because of the required lab component. There are approximately 12 labs for each course and in some universities, single semester lab science courses are worth 4 credits compared to the regular non-lab courses which are worth 3 credits. Students can choose either physical or virtual labs.

Promotion students who sign-up for all three basic courses online or at a promotional event are eligible for a 5% reduction in the certificate fees. Further, they will also be eligible for a further 2% reduction in the certificate fee cost if they pay in full on or before September 30, 2023

Classes begin on Tuesday September 5, 2023.

Promotion students will also get an opportunity to pay for the certificate in two parts, if they elect to continue. This means that the initially they pay 50% of the certificate fee per course less the promotional amount on or before 9/30/2023 and the second 50% on or before 11/30/2023.

Other Courses

SMM Academy will be concentrating its efforts in building its student customer base this year and our concentration will be on delivering the three base courses, Pre-AP chemistry, AP Physics 1 and AP Calculus AB. We will be also be accepting applications for the following courses for academic year 2023 - 2024:

AP Physics C (Mechanics) Fall Semester
AP Physics C (Electricity & Magnetism) Spring Semester
AP Physics 2, Year-long course
AP Chemistry. Year-long course

These courses will not be part of the promotion, but they will also be tuition free for the 2023-2024 academic year. The administrative cost of the certificate will be S180.00 per course and is due on acceptance of your application. Only students who wish to receive a certificate will be accepted for registration.

The adminstrative cost of the SMM Course Certificates does not include the AP course exam fees. Students and their parents/Guardians should make arrangements in their school districts or at a local examination center to take their AP exams. Currently, The College Board charges between $97.00 and $127 per AP course exam, depending on the student and test Centers. However, fees may also be payable to the local examination center or for school district to administer your AP exam. SMM Academy does not currently operate an examination center.
